BLACKPINK fans were enraged and took to Twitter to express major disappointment over YG’s decision to delay the comeback of their idols. They want the group to leave its parent company YG Entertainment for postponing the much-anticipated return to 2020.
According to Metro, YG released a statement that the K-pop group’s return would not happen as scheduled, writing, “The comeback of girl group BLACKPINK is likely to be delayed until next year.”
After the successful release of their EP Kill This Love and their big Coachella performance last April, fans have been eager to hear news about the group’s plans.
YG’s founder, Yang Hyun-suk, had hoped to have a second BLACKPINK comeback this year. Although no comeback date was officially confirmed, many fans assumed that an end of the year comeback will happen especially since the quartet themselves announced that were putting together new music in September.
A lot of Blinks believed new material from the girls would be released this November, before the disappointing news was announced. This caused global outrage and discontent from the fans over YG’s decision.
Some say that the company and its CEO did not make a smart move which made BLACKPINK fans enraged.
