Diehard fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race will have another reason to shantay and stay – at home. VH1 recently announced the newest addition to the franchise: RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race which will start airing on VH1 on April 24 at 9:30 ET immediately following the new episodes of Season 12.
According to the show’s official teaser, it will be the most star-studded competition in herstory. Three secret celebrities from film, music and television will be competing weekly in challenges that are most iconic in past drag race seasons. They will be aided by a host of “Queen Supremes” to make sure they deliver gag-worthy transformations. Professional advise will come from the experience of past winners including Bob the Drag Queen, Trinity the Tuck Taylor, Monét X Change, Trixie Mattel, and iconic contestants Alyssa Edwards, Asia O’Hara, Kim Chi, Monique Heart, Nina West, and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo.
At the end of every episode, one of the three celebrity contestants will win the title of the “America’s Next Celebrity Drag Race Superstar” and a cash prize for a charity of their choice.
The award-winning host, RuPaul said in a statement, “RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race is a blast. We put these celebrities through it! Because no matter how famous your charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent is, you still put your pantyhose on one leg at a time.”
We do not know if it will also air on Netflix Philippines but it sure sounds like an interesting show to look forward to.
