Vid For You PH recently launched an online service that aims to bring happiness from personalized videos. The service allows you to request personalized video greetings from your favorite artists which you can send to a friend, a loved one, or even yourself to make any occasion more special.
VID FOR YOÜ PH is the brainchild of John Mark Yap who is known to many as an excellent stage manager, and a producer of One Night Stand Cabaret. He’s had this idea for years already but never thought it would actually happen. Yap said, “Originally, I wanted this to be a website or an app but that would take a lot of time and money.” His close friend suggested to simply do it through an Instagram account instead of a website or an app. “It would be easy and accessible since almost everyone has an Instagram account.” He added.
Simply put, anyone who wants to avail of the service, can go visit bit.ly/vidforyouph to book the video greetings via the online form.
So far, the celebrities in the roster are in demand thespians including Gab Pangilinan (Ang Huling El Bimbo, Mula sa Buwan, Side Show), Boo Gabunada (Ang Huling El Bimbo, Mula sa Buwan, Dekada ’70), Phi Palmos (Ang Huling El Bimbo, Rak of Aegis, Mula sa Buwan), Bibo Reyes (Ang Huling El Bimbo, Waitress, Matilda the Musical), Teetin Villanueva (The Kundiman Party, Rak of Aegis, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), Lance Reblando (Ang Huling El Bimbo, Wanted: Male Boarders, Lam-Ang), Vien King (Passion, Eto Na! Musikal nAPO!, Dekada ’70), Vic Robinson (Sa Wakas, Ang Huling El Bimbo, Himala: Isang Musikal), and Fred Lo (Mula sa Buwan, Dirty Old Musical, Cinderella). More artists will be featured in the coming weeks as well.
The selected artist can record a video with a personal message, sing or dance, give personal tips and advice, or simply just talk about anything. Yap says that “There is no rule book but once the form is completed by the customer, the artist can accept or decline the request. If the artists are not comfortable with the request, they will not do the video and the customer will receive a full refund.”
VID FOR YOÜ PH is looking forward to feature all kinds of celebrities: actors and actresses, athletes, models, and influencers. Basically, anyone famous with a huge following. There are already a few people who have confirmed participation which will be announced soon. If people request for someone outside the roster, they can message Vid For You directly on their official Instagram account (@vidforyouph) and they’ll try their best to make it happen.
The service is also a source of income for participating artists, especially during these times wherein almost all artists have no projects or productions until the end of the year. It’s also an outlet, in a way, for their craft since they’ll be able to sing, dance, or even act in these videos. It’s not the same with performing onstage but it is a creative outlet which fans can feel free to support.
All videos of these featured artists are at an introductory price of Php1000 each. Depending on the artists, it will increase in the future as determined in coordination with them.
Payment mode is either by GCash or PayPal. Yap believes that “They’re the fastest and easiest way to transfer money online. However, if the customers don’t have those options, we’ll try to find other modes of payment. They can just message us directly and this can be discussed accordingly.”
