A Killer Party: A Murder Mystery Musical will include Pinoy thespians in the ensemble of the musical follows Varthur McArthur, the artistic director of a failing theater in Duluth, who invites his troupe of disgruntled actors and collaborators to the first read of an “immersive murder mystery dinner party.
A Killer Party is an original musical webseries that features Broadway favorites such as Jeremy Jordan, Alex Newell, Laura Osnes, Drew Gehling, Michael James Scott, Jarrod Spector, Carolee Carmello, Jackie Burns, Krystina Alabado, Miguel Cervantes, Jessica Keenan-Wynn, and more. This hilarious and irreverent send-up of the classic Murder Mystery features an all-star creative team that includes Jason Howland (Music), Nathan Tysen (Lyrics), Kait Kerrigan (Book), Marc Bruni (Direction), Bobby Pearce (Costume Design), Billy Jay Stein (Music Producer) and HMS Media (Video Post-Production).
Sixteen Bars, a performing arts education company in the Philippines was asked to tap ensemble performers for the show’s upcoming world premiere. They helped put together a group of homegrown talent and friends alike. Joining this “killer” of a party are Reb Atadero (Full House Theater Company’s Ang Huling El Bimbo), Teetin Villanueva (Atlantis Theatrical’s Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), Abi Sulit (PETA’s Rak of Aegis), Josh Cheng (Philippine Opera Company’s Passion), LJ Z. Galvez (Ateneo Blue Repertory’s Spring Awakening), J.P. Mercado (Anonymous Theater’s In a Nutshell: Adam Szudrich), Mara Rufino (Unidentified Performing Object Improv), Reubz Galenzoga (Trumpets Playshop Playhouse’s Always Upon a Time: A New Musical), Rianelle Alba (Sixteen Bars’ An Evening With Brian Lowdermilk), and Nami Muzo (Sixteen Bars’ An Evening With Brian Lowdermilk).
A Killer Party: A Murder Mystery Musical is available for streaming beginning 05 August 2020, with three episodes dropping weekly for three consecutive weeks. The season is now available for pre-order via their official website and will allow viewers to check out the season’s first episode in advance of the premiere.
