Tim Pavino unveils “Hanggang Sa Huli”, his brand new single dedicated to all loved ones that we lost due to the COVID-19 pandemic with words and music by Jude Gitamondoc, and published by Kadasig.
Pavino recently received an Aliw Award nomination as Best Featured and Best Lead Actor for Next to Normal. His latest offering, Hanggang Sa Huli is a follow-up to the 2020 stripped version of “Dalangin” taken from his Dreams album last year.
Currently in Seattle coping in this new normal with his mother, he posted on Facebook that the songwriter “brings such color to areas of our hearts that have not been taken notice before. He knows how to bring our thoughts to life with every line, and like this song, praying brings healing now to those who need it most.”
To date, over 7,000 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported in the Philippines and 1.2 million lives were lost globally. In most cases, due to safety protocols, grieving is more painful because families did not get a chance to say goodbye. Gitamondoc shares, “There is never a time to grieve, but grieve we must. We hope this brings consolation to whoever needs it.”
Below is an excerpt of the song’s verses:
Pangakong wagas
Pag-ibig na ‘di magwawakas
Hanggang sa habang panahon
Mananatili kung gayon
Hindi na kailangang
Mamaalam pa sa iyo
Gitamondoc adds, “With this tribute, we hope there can be a moment of consolation to those who have not yet been allowed the time to heal. No love is ever truly lost, as it transcends pain, suffering, death, and even life itself.”
