Bringing real-life entertainment out of the screen and into the real world, discovery+ is set to launch discovery+ TRACKS, an immersive interactive experience parklet in BGC on 4 December. In collaboration with film industry veteran and award-winning composer Teresa Barrozo—one of the country’s top Sound Designers and Film Scorers today. The auditory experience invites visitors into a series of color-coded pathways and soundscapes inspired by leading discovery+ genres: Nature, Relationships, Paranormal, and True Crime.
Barrozo was electrified by the idea of doing a full-on, museum-grade sound installation as a form of public art. As the installation interacts with the people walking through the park and with the ambient sounds in that environment, there is a “live” element that makes up discovery+ TRACKS.
“The imagining part was the most exciting part of this project. Choosing what sound elements to include and why; and then putting them together in ways that would make people feel what I wish they’d feel… this gave me much pleasure. I subscribed to discovery+, then checked out the shows they offered. This was helpful to my process in creating the tones of the Lanes,” Teresa Barrozo explained.
As the project is under the Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation’s (FBDC) adopt-a-parklet initiative, discovery+ TRACKS aims to reduce vehicular traffic by linking the City Center via exciting and stimulating walkways.
