Rihanna just released Lift Me Up, a new song and lead single from the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” soundtrack. The song is her first solo music since her “ANTI” album six years ago and fans are getting emotional with its fervently sentimental lyrics and haunting melody. The Lift Me Up music video released on Friday is interspersed with scenes from Black Panther and the singer-songwriter on the beach poignantly singing the words expressing that longing to be held, taken care of, and protected by the one you love.
Rihanna wrote Lift Me Up together with fellow artist Tems, Oscar winner Ludwig Göransson and “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler to pay homage to Chadwick Boseman the Black Panther star who died of colon cancer in 2020. Check out the complete lyrics below.

Rihanna is scheduled to perform the halftime show in next year’s SuperBowl and this new song is making fans wonder whether the pop icon’s SuperBowl number will incorporate this new stripped-down vibe to the Rihanna trademark that audiences around the world are used to.
