After a successful concert in 2023 entitled “The Greatest Duets: Goes Broadway”, the duo of Lara Maigue and Gian Magdangal heads to the second installment of the series, “The Greatest Duets: Special Screening”.
What makes this concert interesting is that it will be held at a movie theater, giving the audiences a dose of live movie songs in an actual movie house.

Lara is known for being the darling soprano, having been awarded numerous accolades with nominations and wins by both the Awit Awards and the Aliw Foundation. Just like Lara, Gian is also a renowned international performer with residency at both Disneyland HongKong and Universal Studios in Japan. But one cannot discount his accolades in the Philippines with performances in musicals like West Side Story, Newsies, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Rent, and Carousel as well as local productions like Katy and Ang Huling El Bimbo. He will also be the lone Filipino cast member in the “Dear Evan Hansen” production in Singapore. On TV, he was a cast member in such shows as “Viral Scandal”, “The Iron Heart” and “FPJ’s Ang Probinsiyano”.
For “The Greatest Duets: Special Screening”, Lara and Gian will be performing songs from movie musicals (Moulin Rouge, West Side Story, Les Miserables), as well as popular soundtrack tunes from movies (Evergreen, Despicable Me, Dirty Dancing). With a deluge of songs that could be included in the repertoire, both of them chose tunes that are close to their hearts and are apt for their respective vocal capabilities.
Lending their support in the concert will be OPM royal couple, Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, who will be doing their share of movie theme songs.
