For its 19th edition, the CCP Pasinaya Open House Festival – the country’s biggest multi-arts festival – brings its brand of cultural experience to the regions and expands its reach to Batangas, Sorsogon, Iloilo City, Himamaylan, and Tagum City, on February 1 and 2, 2025.
For its Luzon leg, the CCP Pasinaya brings its dynamic multi-arts celebration to multiple locations in Batangas and Sorsogon. As a new partner, Batangas will showcase its unique cultural heritage at CCP Pasinaya, offering a distinctive and enriching experience. Catch the festivities in Marble Terrace, located inside the capitol compound in Batangas City. Activities center at the provincial DREAM Zone, provincial auditorium, Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO) Showroom, Museo ng Batangas located at the People’s Mansion, and Samahang Batangueña Hall (SAMBA).
The Batangas leg will kick off with a lively parade and an opening ceremony, dubbed “CCP Pasinaya: Insay Na Dine Sa Batangas,” featuring local performers, and will culminate with an exciting finale, Gabing Ala Eh. Both programs will be at Marble Terrace.
Another new partner this year, Sorsogon in the province of Bicol hosts various activities and performances at various venues across the city, such as the provincial gym, the Cultural Center of Sorsogon, the Museo Sorsogon, and the capitol grounds.
Following the successful partnership last year, the Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art (ILOMOCA) returns with more exciting events and activities for the Visayan leg of CCP Pasinaya. On February 1, ILOMOCA will host workshops, demonstrations, and live performances, offering something for every art enthusiast.
Guests can enrich their cultural appreciation with exhibits such as Timplada: Creative Culinary Expressions and La Vita nell’Arte: An Exhibition on Art and Life. Timplada is a celebration of Ilonggo cuisine through art and culture, featuring 40 visually captivating artworks; while La Vita nell’Arte showcases European art and European-inspired art from the EVV Collection. These special exhibitions are in partnership with the Italian Embassy and serve as ILOMOCA’s featured exhibitions for the Museums and Galleries Month.
The CCP is excited to have Himamaylan City in Negros Occidental, a vibrant city in the Visayas, as another new partner. The celebration will begin with a lively parade through the city’s public plaza and continue across several key locations, including the city gymnasium, People’s Hall, New Government Center, and more. Murals will be on display at various cultural landmarks such as the Nuestra Church, Central School, and Vallota Residence. The two-day festival will wrap up with a program featuring performances from local groups, highlighting the city’s rich culture and artistry.
Tagum City in Davao del Norte returns for the Mindanao leg of CCP Pasinaya. The cultural center of Tagum will come alive with vibrant and lively demonstrations, performances, and workshops showcasing a diversity of each art form by talented local artists.
A brainchild of former CCP Artistic Director Chris Millado, the CCP Pasinaya was originally created in 2005 as a marketing tool to provide previews for the center’s upcoming productions and programs for the year. Through the years, the festival has grown bigger and become a venue for art appreciation and education, networking, and collaborations.
This year, the CCP continues to feature its highly anticipated programs, such as the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival and the Virgin Labfest, spotlighting innovative independent films and showcasing bold, original theater productions, celebrating the creative talents of Filipino filmmakers and playwrights.
