The stars of ‘Delia D.: A Musical Featuring the Songs of Jonathan Manalo’ made a grand entrance at a press conference held on Thursday, March 13, at Newport World Resorts’ Grand Bar and Lounge. The musical’s cast brought Jonathan Manalo’s greatest hits to life with showstopping vocals and high-energy choreography on a state-of-the-art moving stage that elevated the experience to a full-blown spectacle. This exclusive sneak peek served a glimpse of the glitz, glamour, and drama that await theatergoers when the musical opens this April.

The newest production from Newport World Resorts’ production outfit, Full House Theater Company (FHTC), is backed by the all-star creative team behind hit Filipino jukebox musicals Ang Huling El Bimbo and Buruguduystunstugudunstuy. At the helm are Director Dexter M. Santos and FHTC Co-Artistic Directors Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo and Michael Williams. “This is not another jukebox musical,” revealed Lauchengco-Yulo. “Instead, we’ve crafted a hybrid musical that celebrates Jonathan Manalo’s biggest OPM hits while introducing brand-new, original songs that audiences will hear for the first time.”
Williams highlighted the show’s relatability and broad appeal. “It’s campy, it’s comedic, it’s dramatic, but more than anything, Delia D. is about resilience, family, and the relentless pursuit of dreams. Audiences will see themselves in Delia—a drag performer who refuses to let obstacles dim her shine.”
The press event featured live performances from the cast, offering a first listen to seven songs from the production including “May Kasama Ka,” “Clap Clap Clap Awra,” “Paano Bang Magmahal,” “What U Want,” “Pwede Ba,” “Pagbigyang Muli,” and “Tara Tena”.
Leading the cast of Delia D. Musical is Phi Palmos in the titular role, with Shaira Opsimar and Floyd Tena taking on secondary roles as Kiki and Sir T, respectively. Supporting cast members are Tex Ordoñez-De Leon as Mamon, Omar Uddin as Raymond, Sweet Lapus as Eme, Joann Yap Co as Anet, Joshua Cabiladas as Jose, Mimi Marquez as GVB. Joining them are Rapah Manalo as Jonathan B, Miah Canton as Tonee, Alfritz Blanche as Billy, Natasha Cabrera as Sheryn, and Chaye Mogg as Phoebe.
