14 March 2025 – Since many more wished to go to the festival, Theatre Group Asia (TGA) is granting your wish and making the magic happen! TGA announces the extended run of its highly anticipated production of Into The Woods with six additional shows from August 28-31 at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater. Additional shows are detailed as follows:
- August 28, Thursday, 7:30 p.m.
- August 29, Friday, 7:30 p.m.
- August 30, Saturday, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
- August 31, Sunday, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Here are the ticket sale dates:
- March 28, Friday: TGA Subscribers Exclusive (Online via Ticketworld)
- March 29, Saturday: PWD, Senior and Cash Purchases (available only at Samsung Performing Arts Theatre onsite)
- March 30, Sunday: General Public Sale (Online via Ticketworld and Onsite via Ticketworld outlets)

The extension is in response to the overwhelming public demand that saw close to 30,000 tickets sold out within the first two hours of the box office opening, a monstrous feat rarely seen in Philippine theater history. The show’s executive producer Chris Mohnani shares, “This only illustrates how the Philippine theater scene is so alive! More and more, Filipinos are becoming more enthusiastic about theater once again, and this can only be a good thing for the industry and for our Philippine talents and creatives.”
He continues, “While we anticipated the surge due to the growing public excitement since our announcement, we couldn’t have imagined this level of public response, which can only be described as phenomenal. We closely monitored the feedback and response, and we are grateful for the public’s patience and perseverance. Together with our entire production team and cast, these additional shows are our way of sharing our humble appreciation to the warmth and support the public has given Into The Woods.”
Leading the powerhouse cast is Tony and Olivier-winning Lea Salonga as The Witch in her Philippine theater homecoming after six years and first time performing with her only child Nic Chien who’s set to play Jack, celebrated Broadway star Arielle Jacobs will be stepping into her glass slippers as Cinderella, and multi award-winning actress Eugene Domingo as Jack’s mom.
Behind this production of Into The Woods is Tony Award-winning visionary Clint Ramos, who serves as overall artistic and creative director alongside co-producers John and Joanna Echauz, and S-PAT Executive Director Chris Mohnani.
Into The Woods* is based on James Lapine’s book, who also directed the original Broadway run. The plot intertwines several fairy tale characters. Their adventures are tied together by a baker and his wife who set off on a journey to break The Witch’s curse preventing the couple from having a child. What ensues is a magical spectacle that portrays the impact and consequences of the characters’ actions.
