Netflix is set to release its first English-language medical procedural, Pulse, on April 3, 2025. The series follows the high-pressure lives of the staff at Miami’s busiest Level 1 Trauma Center as they navigate both medical emergencies and personal turmoil.
The story centers around Dr. Danny Simms (Willa Fitzgerald), a third-year ER resident who is unexpectedly promoted to Chief Resident after Dr. Xander Phillips (Colin Woodell), the beloved Chief, is suspended. Just as a hurricane nears Miami, the hospital goes into lockdown, and the pressure mounts with an influx of trauma cases.

Amid the chaos, Danny and Phillips must figure out how to work together while dealing with the fallout of their complex and illicit romantic relationship, which begins to unravel in front of the hospital staff. As the team faces life-or-death decisions, they must also cope with their own personal and professional challenges.
Pulse explores the intense, often conflicting realities of saving lives while managing one’s own, offering a mix of medical drama and emotional complexity.
