Zsa Zsa Padilla has long been known for her iconic voice, timeless beauty, and undeniable talent. But more than anything, she’s admired for her strength and resilience. Through highs and lows, she has remained a constant force in music, film, and television—proving time and again that she is both a survivor and an inspiration.

Zsa Zsa’s musical career spans almost five decades, beginning with her time in the legendary band Hotdog—pioneers of OPM’s signature sound. She went on to release hit after hit as a solo artist, including classics like “Kahit Na”, “Hiram”, “Ikaw Lamang”, and “Mula Sa Puso”. Her covers of international songs like “We’re All Alone” and “Through The Years” also became fan favorites. With several multi-platinum albums under her belt, she remains one of the best-selling female artists in the country.

“Acceptance is a must. As you’re aging, there are things you can’t control anymore.”

Celebrating 42 years in the business, she is aware that longevity comes with certain challenges even for the best and brightest of singers. In an interview with PalabasTayo.com, Zsa Zsa says, “acceptance is a must. As you’re aging, there are things you can’t control anymore.” She believes that whether you like it or not, the vocal range can change over time. “For me, I think it happened as I was menopausing.” She confided that when it comes, there is a transition that happens. That phase is not easy for any singer to realize that you’re changing and you just have to embrace it and work harder on your voice, the same way you workout your body.

Aside from music, Zsa Zsa has built a strong career in acting. She’s played diverse roles in films like “Ako Legal Wife”, “Batang PX”, and “Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah Ze Moveeh”. On television, she’s portrayed unforgettable characters in hit series such as “Budoy”, “Juan Dela Cruz”, and “Wildflower”. She’s also a mainstay on ABS-CBN’s long-running variety show ASAP Natin ‘To. She also wore the hat of a Hurado on “TNT All Star Grand Resbak”.

At 60 and with a wealth of experience, what she finds impressive in performers are those who can tell a story. She says, “With judging TNT I always look for people who affect me the most.” Many performers now are technically mind-blowing. They push beyond limits and are hungry to perform. Although these are important, singers are story tellers and therefore must have the “desire to influence people through music”. Singers must be affective with the sincerity of every performance in order to make a difference in their followers.

Most of Zsa Zsa’s supporters are women who, like she has, have become one way or another become mother figures. Zsa Zsa remembers one fan who has become a friend. This woman friend from Australia who wasn’t as eloquent in the English language shared with the singer that she found strength listening to her music, and she became a true companion. “What? Mind-blowing for me!” She gasped. “It’s a gift to be told face-to-face one day that you had that impact.”
