Ang Huling El Bimbo (AHEB), the hit original Pilipino musical based on the songs of the iconic Eraserheads, got millions of views when it started its limited online streaming. Full House Theater Company announced that the show will be available for viewing last May 2 and it will be streamed for only 48 hours. This is to give a welcome distraction and an opportunity to donate for people affected by the global COVID-19 crisis.
Fans as well as cast members expressed excitement to see the musical and stayed up late to watch the debut live stream with the same opening night feels. As of this writing, Facebook already hit 1.3 million views with 22,466 shares and 41,000 reactions. YouTube, on the other hand, has 1.5 million views and now ranks #2 on its trending charts. (UPDATE: The streaming of the show hit about 7 million views)
AHEB, directed and choreographed by Dexter Santos premiered in 2018 and had its final run in August 2019 to much critical acclaim. The streaming cast features Boo Gabunada as young Emman, OJ Mariano as Emman, Bibo Reyes as young Hector, Gian Magdangal as Hector, Phi Palmos as young Anthony, Jon Santos as Anthony, Gab Pangilinan as young Joy, Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo as Joy, Shiela Francisco as Tia Dely, and Jamie Wilson as Arturo Banlaoi.
The ensemble in multiple roles: Joshua Cabiladas, Paw Castillo, Raymund Concepcion, MC Dela Cruz, Jules Dela Paz, Red Nuestro, Ariel Reonal, Vic Robinson, Ali Santos, Chino Veguillas, Stephen Viñas, Natasha Cabrera, Helene Enriquez, Jasmine Fitzgerald, Kiara Dario, Jilian Ita-as, Yanah Laurel, Jom Logdat, Hazel Maranan, Chaye Mogg, Alys Serdenia, and Alexa Salcedo.
