Universal Pictures just unveiled the official Dear Evan Hansen trailer for their upcoming adaptation of the award-winning Broadway musical which is scheduled to go on the big screen on September 24.

The film’s official website says, “The breathtaking, generation-defining Broadway phenomenon becomes a soaring cinematic event as Tony, Grammy, and Emmy Award winner Ben Platt reprises his role as an anxious, isolated high schooler aching for understanding and belonging amid the chaos and cruelty of the social-media age.”

Without any surprise, fans of the show are flipping upon seeing the trailer:

Poppert Bernadas, singer-songwriter and actor was so moved by the trailer that he recorded a snippet of the song “Words Fail” and blamed Ben Platt for it.
